Miami Vice redefined television. The show brought a never-seen-before look to the old cop show genre with expensive Italian suits, Ferraris, pastel, color-coordinated sets and wardrobes, pop music soundtracks, and episodes that would end without the traditional feel-good wrap-up closing segments.When the pilot aired on Sep. 16, 1984, it left the gate running, sporting what later became an iconic scene and arguably the best ever on television.
